abstract = "Spatial information is essential for urban planning, public
services, management and security. To be successfully a spatial
data needs to be aware of the quality of information. In a context
of popularization through the internet, increased demand and
widespread use of digital spatial data, it is necessary specific
research on data quality. This paper proposes the qualification of
information given by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and
Statistics, National Spatial Data Infrastructure and the Center of
Remote Sensing of the Federal University of Minas Gerais based on
the analysis of positional accuracy standards, accuracy attribute,
completeness, metadata and logical consistency. It is also
evaluated the web design. By selecting three maps of each
institution it was rated the quality level of the information
provided by them, in order to better understand the rules, data
quality standards, metadata, the mistakes and how the violation of
these elements impair the quality and reduce the credibility of
the information provided.",
